Privacy notice

Who is responsible
The data controller is Gerald Guildhary, sole trader, trading as GiALearn, Lot 3A, Avenue Prairie Rose, Morcellement Splendid View, Albion, Mauritius. Privacy contact: hello@gialearn.com.
What we collect
- Orders: your email address, name and country as entered at checkout, the products bought, the order number and amount. Card details are handled only by Paddle (or Payhip) and are never seen by us.
- Order requests and contact forms: the email address and message you send.
- Mailing list: your email address, only if you sign up.
- Site assistant (Gia): the messages you type to Gia and, if you choose to give it, your first name. Your conversation and the profile Gia builds from your answers are kept in your own browser so that Gia remembers you; you can erase them at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser. To write its replies, Gia sends the conversation to Claude, the AI model of Anthropic (see below). On our server we keep only the date, the language, the courses suggested and your last question, without your name, to improve our answers; a temporary counter based on your IP address limits the number of messages per hour.
- Technical data: server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) kept by our host for security.
- Language of the welcome page: your IP address is checked on our own server, without being stored or shared, only to tell whether you are in France and show the page in French. Country data: IP Geolocation by DB-IP (CC BY 4.0).
Why and on what basis
- Delivering your courses, customer service and refunds — performance of the contract.
- Invoicing and tax records — legal obligation (handled mainly by Paddle).
- Sending news about new courses — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link.
- Security and fraud prevention — our legitimate interest.
- Answering your questions with the Gia assistant — your request, and our legitimate interest in improving our answers.
Who receives your data
- Paddle.com (Paddle.com Market Ltd and its group), our reseller and Merchant of Record, which processes payments and invoices as an independent controller: paddle.com/legal/privacy.
- Payhip, for the few products sold through it.
- Hostinger, which hosts the website and our email.
- PayPal, for the courses for adults paid through PayPal.
- Anthropic (Anthropic PBC, United States), which provides Claude, the AI model behind the Gia assistant. It receives the messages of your conversation with Gia only to write the replies; under its commercial terms it does not use them to train its models and keeps them for 30 days at most: anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
We never sell your data. Some of these providers may process data outside your country, with the safeguards required by law.
How long we keep it
Order data: as long as needed for the guarantee and customer service, then as required by tax law (usually up to 10 years). Download links expire after 30 days (Payhip links: limited number of downloads). Mailing list: until you unsubscribe. Assistant questions and server logs: 12 months at most.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict its use, or receive a copy of it, by writing to hello@gialearn.com. If you are in the EU or UK, you may also complain to your data protection authority.
Cookies and audience measurement
gialearn.com does not use advertising cookies. Your browser stores technical preferences (such as the language you chose and your cookie choice). The Paddle checkout window may use the cookies needed to process the payment securely.
We use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd) to count visits and understand how the site is used: pages viewed, courses consulted, add-to-cart and purchases (no payment details), approximate country, device type. IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics, Google signals and ad personalisation are disabled, and data is kept for 14 months. Visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom are asked for consent first: Google Analytics is only loaded if you click “Accept”. Elsewhere, audience measurement is active by default and you can decline at any time. You can change your choice whenever you like with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. Cookies set: _ga and _ga_* (13 months maximum).
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, payments are handled by certified payment providers and download links are personal and time-limited.
