A typical day
- 10:00 am: reread the session terms and check the slots booked on the platform.

How to become a psychic medium
In France, psychic readings have been a free activity since article R. 34-7 of the old Criminal Code was repealed in 1994: no diploma or licence is required. Most practitioners set up as a micro-entreprise under non-commercial profits (BNC), with APE code 9609Z, "Other personal services". What makes the difference is not a gift, which no study has demonstrated, but the quality of listening, knowledge of consumer law and of the offence of abuse of weakness, and solid ethics. Training in active listening or helping relationships is a real plus. In English-speaking countries, rules on fortune-telling and consumer protection differ, so check local law. Pay
Salaries vary widely by region and status. Income depends on the number of clients, the price you set and the commission taken by consultation platforms; no income is guaranteed.
The hard parts
- The emotional load: grief, break-ups and distress come up every day, so breaks and peer discussion matter.
- The risk of some clients becoming dependent, which you must slow down even when it costs you a sale.
- An unregulated, often criticised sector where you must keep proving your honesty against other practitioners' misleading promises.

Do you need a qualification to become a psychic?
Not in France: psychic readings are unregulated and no diploma is required. Consumer and criminal law still apply, and training in listening is strongly advised.
Is being a psychic legal in France?
Yes, since 1994. But promising a result, hiding prices, inventing reviews or exploiting a client's fragility are offences, checked by the DGCCRF or prosecuted in court.
How much does a psychic medium earn?
There is no reliable official figure. Income varies with the client base, prices and platform commissions, and nothing is guaranteed: keep a safety net when you start.
